As Ontario’s existing lab network struggles to meet the demand for COVID testing due to the Omicron variant, we want to be part of the solution.

Stakeholders from across the Region and beyond have rallied in support of our proposal to address the gap in regional-based testing.  Our vision of creating a high-capacity lab would ultimately shorten turnaround times for results and make the region more resilient in future outbreaks. With a daily capacity of 10,000 tests a day, the effects would spread across all sectors, including healthcare, long-term care, manufacturing and tourism.
